When the plateau empties and the light turns amber, Khufu's Bistro takes over from its daytime sibling.
It was conceived by Pier88 Group founder Giovanni Bolandrini with chef Mostafa Seif and opened in 2024 on the upper level of the Khufu's building. Candlelit tables, glass walls and an open-air balcony all face the pyramids. The cooking is looser than downstairs, built around plates for sharing that move between Egypt and the Mediterranean: black baba ganoush with smoked harissa, beef tartare, a green Nubian-style risotto, charcoal-grilled tenderloin, confit duck leg. Dinner is by reservation only, at one all-inclusive price per guest, for diners aged 16 and over. Come at sunset and stay for the candlelight.
حين تخلو الهضبة من زوارها ويكتسي الضوء لونًا كهرمانيًا، يتسلّم «بيسترو خوفو» المساء من شقيقه النهاري. صاغ فكرته جيوفاني بولاندريني مؤسس مجموعة Pier88 مع الشيف مصطفى سيف، وافتُتح عام 2024 في الطابق العلوي من مبنى «خوفو». الطاولات تحت ضوء الشموع والجدران الزجاجية والشرفة المكشوفة كلها تطل على الأهرامات. المطبخ هنا أكثر تحررًا من الطابق السفلي، ويقوم على أطباق للمشاركة تتنقّل بين مصر والمتوسط: بابا غنوج أسود بالهريسة المدخنة، وتارتار اللحم، وريزوتو أخضر بلمسة نوبية، وفيليه مشوي على الفحم، وفخذ بط مطهو ببطء. العشاء بالحجز فقط وبسعر واحد شامل للفرد، والحد الأدنى للسن 16 عامًا. تعالَ مع الغروب وابقَ حتى يحلّ ضوء الشموع.
What to order
- Arrive for the 6pm opening to see the pyramids in the last light, then lit after dark.
- Dinner is a single all-inclusive price of EGP 4,980 per person, with no separate minimum charge.
- Share the black baba ganoush with smoked harissa, the Egyptian fava purée and cold calamari.
- From the charcoal grill: beef tenderloin or chicken; the tenderloin Wellington and confit duck leg are the richer choices.
- Reservations are required and guests must be 16 or older.
Good to know
- Entry is only through the Fayoum Gate of the Giza Plateau. Go to the Visitor Center, where golf carts take guests to the bistro.
- Smart casual dress is required; children are not admitted (minimum age 16).
- Birthday set-ups and outside cakes are not allowed.
- Not every allergy can be accommodated; vegetarians choose from designated dishes.
